Lyle Talbot had a funny role towards the end of his career.
Also-ran leading men like George Murphy and Ronald Reagan were getting into state politics. Talbot appeared several times on GREEN ACRES as the ex-actor governor of an unnamed state. "I'm Lyle Talbot," he would explain with naive pride and of course get blank looks in response. And like the trouper he was, he'd go right on with the job.
