One of my favorite shows as a juvey...It's great that tv gave a deserving extended career to the big screen's yeomen, "also rans", 2nd tier leading men, assorted heavies and "everyman" as you rightly assign to Lyle Talbot. These early adventure and detective series, were for the most part, fast paced and were all story and unlike today's dramas, didn't dwell on back stories and everybody and their brother's love life. Nice write up on a swell series from, to quote Joe Pesce in "My Cousin Vinny", my " Yute" (youth).
