I have a 1998 1500 Vulcan Classic which, until recently ran great! Never had any problems. Vance & Hinds pipes, rejetted, no problems. THEN, at the bank one day is sounded like a misfire. Since then when ever I let off the throttle I get a drop in RPM's, backfiring, a glugging noise and a blue flame out the front cylinder, lower exhaust. I have installed a new battery, plugs, air filter, cleaned the carb and new crush gaskets. I have already blocked the emissions (marbeled) yet it seems to act up only when the bike is warmed up. A local mechanic said the pickup coils are on their way out. Problem is when I test they zero out (no reading at all) I have a new OHM tester and it works fine on other things. Kawi doesn't list these pick up coils any where for parts. HELP... If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Daytona and BIke Week is almost here and I can't ride...boo hoo... Thanks!
