electrical problem

i have a 550 kawasaki llllllllllllllltd. 1981. the light blew out so i replace it with a new one. agter about a mil or so .the main fuse blows.. if i remove the fuel from the fuse box that says tail light i dont have problem any more. what caused the fuse to blow. ??
