I agree with you, but still fear that Lieutenant Governors (regardless of which province they happen to represent) are woefully under-appreciated by the general population. Two Lieutenant Governors were appointed earlier this year, but I saw next to nothing in the mainstream national news media about either of them. Indeed, whenever new LGs are appointed, it always seems as though it is comparatively obscure, small-town and/or provincial newspapers that have the most coverage (as though the Queen's provincial representative is little more than a municipal official of sorts). Despite its importance in the constitutional makeup of the country, the position of Lieutenant Governor barely makes it on to the radar of the CBC or other national news outlets.
There is clearly a problem here.
