Canada Day is not a military occasion! The Queen is commander in chief and never in my lifetime have I ever seen her wear a military uniform to a public event. Anybody who doesn't know who the GG is has been living under a rock and I, for one, wouldn't trust them to be able to make an informed decision about how our country should be run anyway.
Keep in mind that these events are run to please the public, not pander to monarchists or republicans. Our country has endured 145 years and events like these won't have any bearing on its future!
