What I really think is going on

I suspect that the government has timed things this way as to avoid a long period between the announcement and the actual tour that would inevitable be filled with vapid commentary "examining" the relationship between the Prince of Wales and Canadians. As far as I'm aware, republicans have already forgotten that a tour is on the way!
