Ironically, this same Governor General:
- Spoke of the Queen during her installation;
- Has issued Victoria Day Statements;
- Issued a statement on the Queen's 80th birthday
It is interesting to note that Mme. Jean doesn't refer to herself as "head of state" in all her speeches; it seems to be an off-the-cuff habit. Perhaps her speech writers make these mistakes.
More insulting to her own role is when Mme. Jean referred to herself the CBC's "The Hour" as Canada's "titual head of state," as if the Queen's representative is merely a title.
