The 1947 Letters are signed by W.L. Mackenzie King.
Does this mean it was he or his office that typed them up and then told the King to "sign here," like many other so-called "Royal" instuments in Canada, or did George VI actually issue them himself on the advice of the Canadian government?
Surely the liberal use of the word "Our" doesn't mean the government itself.
