I suspect popular support for the Monarchy will increase with the upcoming visits of the Prince of Wales in November and the all but confirmed visit of the Queen next year.
If you look at the polls over the last decade support for the Monarchy tends to soar when there is an official tour of the country and then sag when there is gaps. It's been over 4 years since the Queen was here and nearly 9 years since the Prince of Wales was last here so I'm not surprised the numbers are down.
I still feel that if there was an actual referendum to become a republic today, the monarchy would win.
