I could not agree with you more AT. I remember being on a tour of Parliament last November and being told "The Queen only visits Canada when she is on Holiday," and my personal favourite, was the guide who went on about how our current Governor General (Mme Jean) shares something with the King of Pop, they "both share the initials M.J." This same guide talked about how Canada "is still a constitutional monarchy" with a tone that made some visitors thing that we should expect some change in the near future.
