Is not the "Crown" the Queen's "body politic?" The Queen herself personifies the Crown as an institutional office; the Governors represent this locally, but are not it themselves.
I find it interesting that the websites of the Lieutenant Governors are actually quite proud of their representing the Monarch, unlike Rideau Hall. Go figure.
This sounds like the Australian notion that the Governor General is head of state and the Queen is Sovereign. Interestingly, no other realm, whether federal or unitary, has made this distinction.
