Once again our Governor General has demonstrated that she is totally clueless about what her role as the Queen’s representative entails. Her Excellency has initiated a public discussion about her perceived need for an Inuit University. Had she done this behind closed doors and not in the public realm it would be acceptable, but doing so in public makes her little more than a trumped up politician. When is the government going to get a handle on this Governor General who regularly wades into policy discussions? (remember her comments about planning a meeting with President Obama to discuss Haiti, her calls for changes to the regulations governing the Cross of Valour?). Her advisors at Rideau Hall are equally to blame for allowing Her Excellency to so blatantly enter into public discussion of a policy issue.
