Although not residents of Vancouver, we were recently at Vancouver City Hall appearing before the Board of Variance.
We were delighted to see an updated portrait of The Queen of Canada on the wall opposite what appeared to be the Mayor's Office; flanked by smaller official portraits of the PM and GG.
Unfortunately we also noticed that on the brass name plate accompanying the portrait, The Queen has been styled "HRH" (if memory serves, it was stamped out in full as: Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II Queen of Canada").
Certainly, kudos on having the portrait so prominently displayed but Her Majesty has not enjoyed the lesser style of HRH for nearly 60 years. At a distance, we can do nothing more than write a friendly letter to The Mayor's Office respectfully requesting that a change be made. Anyone in Vancouver who passes by in the near future may wish to peek inside to see if it has indeed been altered.
Much thanks!
