Prince Edward will visit Vancouver in June

Prince Edward, the third son of The Queen...and Prince Phillip, will visit Vancouver to preside over the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, a press release from the awards program said Friday.
He will be in Vancouver and Victoria from june 3 to 5, then travel to Calgary June 6 to 8, taking part in 17 events for eight community organizations, the release said.
Edward, aka Edward Antony Richard Louis, 44,
will preside over Award Ceremonies in Vancouver, Victoria and Calgary presenting over 300 young Canadians with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards, the release said The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award honours personal challenges for Canadians aged 14 to 25, recognizing personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility and community service.
More than 126 countries now offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and over six million young people have taken part, the release said. In Canada, the award has been operating since 1963 and some 36,000 people participate each year.
