: KWD kwd, you know, this is one of the hardest and most difficult albums of the beatles to differentiate. only second to,"introducing the beatles", on vj records. the christmas album has some really interesting features. i will try and give as best an answer as possible, from my own experience. all colored vinyls of the christmas album, are automatically invalid!! also it has been said that originals have the factory stamp,"bell sound". on the albums trail-off area. that of course can be suject to debate also. the pictures on the original are supposed to be clear, and not blurry. the counterfeit cover has some blurred shots, especially in the lower left hand side group shots. the words,"theater royal", are supposed to be legible on the original, however, i have yet to hear the sources definition of the word legible in so far as the album cover goes. can they be seen or clearly seen or read with the naked eye? also, there are demensions of the title's measurments of the words,"the beatles christmas album"? supposedly, the length of the title on side one is somewhere bewteen and inch and a half and one inch and 7/8th inches?? somewhere in that however you can measure in such a way, that it could come out to be almost too close to determine, if your there or not!!! there are a few more variables, but take heart, if you have the original fan club flyer, that was issued with the actual album, you could really be gassing! the final one was something with the title of the christmas albums record label above and not below the middle label. i have seen some actual conferfeit albums, and unless you can actually ascertain with consistantcy one that was issued from the actual fan club, you have to do what most of have been doing for years, debating and judging originality from our own discretion. who knows ,maybe someone will come up with a fool proof detecting procedure, and we will know without any doubt, and original from a counterfeit beatles christmas album!!
