Lotsa good stuff coming: Some oldies but goodies from Lindberg, including their 1/169 USS Carronade (that one made MANY a patrol of my wading pool in the late 60s)and the 1/240 USS Olympia (my understanding is that the Oly isn't that flat out bad, but be prepared for a lot of patient work). They also have - get this - a 1/144 USS Arizona coming. The nice thing about Lindberg kits is that if you have the patience, they're like a blank canvas for the builder - you can do as much as you want.
From an outfit called Pegasus - the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea! There don't seem to be any pics of it, but wouldn't it be great if it was the classic Disney version?
The best news though is from Revell, which is opening up the vault and letting their USS Chicago CG-11 see the light of day again. I have long maintained that the Chicago (in its various incarnations) was the absolute best of Monogram's box scale boats, it's definitely going to be affordable (I'd guess about $25 based on other releases) and it's certainly the only plastic kit of the Tall Lady. On top of that, Revell is also turning their Baltimore class CA loose once more! Dare we hope that Revell might dust off the molds for the old Monogram Halsey CG and Ramsey FF?
(Aside to Matt - keep an eye on the Chicago and Baltimore sales, people are going to need those 3" and 5" mounts! and directors!)
(Aside to everybody - I'm thinking about getting a second Chicago - I already have one - and putting one hull, after some surgery, of course, under the deck from the Baltimore...)
