For anyone wondering why it's been so long since my last update, I have been occupied taking no less than seven runs at painting a decent wood-plank appearance on the flight deck, using my "Dissolving Wash" method - on two kit flight decks, no less - until finally obtaining this result:

Now anyone not interested in ever painting anything like the above, and/or with low tolerance for long sagas of The Agony of Defeat and The Tenacity to Succeed in the End
, can just "jogg on" (as our English friends would say), and not read the details, presented in two "replies" below.
But for the rest of you, see these - one for each kit flight deck - containing, in excruciating detail
exactly what-all I tried, failed - and why - and what finally succeeded in producing the above paint job.
