Many thanks for your response, but the R Butroid I was referring to would be Roy's Uncle (Bob)Who lived with his wife Fanny at No.15 (I think) Gringley Road. Their house was behind the main house. He worked for the council, painting road signs and also kept chicken and pigs and also had a horse and cart. His wife was my late mothers sister. They had no family. He had leg irons on one leg, which made him limp quite badly. They also were a lovely couple. I remember Roy and his wife, although I didn't know them well, just saw them when we had holidays there. I married in 1964 and I have always lived in Cleethorpes. Again, many thanks for your reply. Noreen

: Hi,
: I moved to Misterton in 1964 and knew your
: aunt and uncle.I remember your aunt as being
: in a wheel chair and she used to do all your
: uncles paperwork for his business as a
: joiner/carpenter/cabinet maker and
: undertaker. They were both very nice people
: and would be helpful to everyone. It was
: never too much trouble at any time to supply
: my needs for wood products. I could go
: around any time of the day and Roy would be
: willing to machine up any wood that I
: required. A true gentleman.He has certainly
: been missed in this area.

: I am the niece of Mr & Mrs R Butroid who
: lived in Gringley Road, Misterton. Mrs
: Butroid was my late mothers sister. It is
: some years now since my aunt and uncle
: passed away, but I was looking for the house
: on Google earth and it brought back some
: lovely memories of when I was a child and
: holidayed there with my parents, Winifred
: and George Armstrong. I just wondered if
: anyone remembered my aunt and uncle, the
: Butroids, they had no children. Thank
: you.Noreen Lee (nee Armstrong )
