From looking at the older Ordance Survey maps of Misterton, it seems clear that what is now the Haxey Road used to run due South into the village, (along the route of what is now the footpath which connects the corner of Old Haxey Road to the corner of the High Street).
Does any local historian out there have a cogent explanation for the dogleg that the Old Haxey Road took to deviate what appears to be its original route?
