We have been on the council waiting list for over a year. When i first went on the list i was homeless all they could offer me was a few extra points but no where to live since then i have had a child with my partner (who has lived in the village all her life) and are currently in rented accomadation where our lease ends at the end of the month and we will be homeless. We have been to see the council at the misterton centre and at retford we have also rang them up on numerous occasions and all they can say is you haven't enough points and keep making different excuses up as to why they can't offer us a home when there is about four available in the village at the moment. But they always seem to be able to re-house people from out side the village into our homes that we need!!!!
We are getting very stressed about this situation they say that they are here to help but they don't seem to care. They have even taken points off us for not being homeless any more when we had to find rented accomadation for which we struggle to find the rent each month and we have had to move away from the village into a town and away from all our family and friends which has made us feel isolated as we don't drive and have no transport, this has put added presure on our relationship! Please give your views on this situation as we think it is time something was done about this. Thanks
