Posted by Hazel Brand However, as the Clerk to the Parish Council is in Misterton tomorrow, he will take a look and action this accordingly. The Parish Council organises an annual village litterpick, and the Clerk and I have been the ones to clean up Fox Covert Lane in recent years (and someone will be on this route again when we do the annual clean-up on Saturday 21 April). In addition, when the mornings are light enough, I regularly do a walk around the village picking up other people's litter. We have mowed a verge that the house owners failed to keep tidy themselves (for the Best Kept Village Competition - hopefully, it won't become a habit!), and put up dog waste bins in the vicinity. So I'm sorry that you feel that this part of the village has been ignored - far from it. Every part of the village is important when competing in the Best Kept Village competition, in which, I hope you're aware, we won the over-2000 population award last year. We wouldn't have had that succcess if we had ignored part of the village. Do join us for the annual litterpick on 21 April - we leave the War Memorial at 10.00am! Hazel Brand --Previous Message--

Thank you for highlighting this. The authority that deals with abandoned vehicles (where there are registration plates) is Notts Police. But if there is no form of identification, 'junk' is dealt with by Bassetlaw District Council.
Chairman, Misterton Parish Council
: Do the council intend doing anything about the
: abandoned van that has been blighting fox
: covert lane for the past few years, It is
: just left rotting in the hedgerow and I am
: positive that it will be devoid of road tax.
:
: It seems to me that most of you people only
: care about the half of the village that
: looks picturesque and turn a blind eye to
: the problems the other half has.
:
: Still nothing changes eh!
