Did you see the "General Manager's Comments" article in the Sept 2008 issue of Mililani News? Mr. Maeda says that MTA is considering a penalty fine system for covenant violations. He goes on to say that if a fine needs to be assessed, a portion of the "covenant enforcement expenses will be covered solely by the responsible homeowner."
So if the inspector decides to fine a homeowner, then the fine will be boosted by some arbitrary fee to cover "postage costs, office supplies, legal fees, and follow-up inspections."
Don't be surprised by a $100 fine for excessive weeds or a box in your carport. That's what they do in Aiea.
