Mauka Resident,
I agree with you there are far worse things. That is why we decided to let as many people know as we could about C&C's plan. The storage facility was going to be dropped in our neighborhood without us even having been informed or asked!
There are also many more commercial properties that C&C is planning to build next to the storage facility. Based on what I have heard it will be shops and food places.
We would like to know ahead of time just what is happening in our neighborhood, don't you agree?
The storage facility may end up as the lessor of two evils (or more) but, as concerned residents we should have some say as to what is placed near our school and park! It should not be decided by a commercial developer!
When they displayed the storage facility to the neighborhood board they decided for us that this would be a good thing for the neighborhood. How is it that C&C should decide for us? This is what we do not want to happen any more so, we did the petition to let C&C know we have a voice and want to know more.

: I can think of much worst things to
: put on that open lot besides a
: storage center. The storage center
: would not have much traffic because
: people would just drop off and pick
: up their goods once in a while. If
: the artist's renderings are correct
: then the building will not be too
: bad. It could have been worst if
: they put a restaurant or a fastfood
: joint. How about a 7-11 that would
: have traffic moving in and out of
: there all times of the day and
: night. Even a church would be much
: louder and have more traffic than
: the storage center.
