In our Mililani Mauka neighborhood we've had some auto break ins, things stolen from garages, and bedroom window screens cut from several homes and things stolen while the residents were still home watching TV in the living room area. Though we have a Neighborhood Security Watch in our area, people still need to secure their homes, close their garage doors and park their vehicles in the garage or driveway with windows and doors locked. I agree everyone needs to be vigilant, take record of suspicious activity and call 911 immediately so that the police can check it out even if it is a false alarm. The police involved in the Neighborhood Security Watch program encourage Mililani residents to call them with any suspicious activity ASAP. Better safe than sorry. Don't be a statistic or a victim of crime!
: : I was driving around in Mauka two
: weeks ago during the week checking
: out the Christmas lights, there were
: five of us in my grey SUV (just in
: case it was me you saw). I drove
: through many cul-de-sacs. Most of
: the burglaries if not all occurred
: in the lower half of Mililani due to
: the type of windows most common in
: the lower half. Good advise, we all
: should be trained to look at the
: license plate first and get in the
: habit of writing it down, even if
: you don't call it in, it may come in
: handy later.
