I am in my CFY and working in LTC. I am currently working with a 60 year old patient with brain cancer and has been given around 3 months to live. I am working with her to make sure she is able to express wants/needs. She has aphasia and Freidrichs Ataxia. She has limited vision (she can only make out outlines of people- not any details per her family). She is having difficulty following my 1-step directions and expressing self. She isn't able to gesture well due to motor difficulties. Does anyone have any ideas of ways I could help her express wants/needs? It's kind of a difficult situation since I cannot use a typical communication board or symbols i.e. Thanks for any help in advance
