If the child is 3 or over, is he being seen by the school system in the area? Generally young apraxic kids should have frequent sessions of shorter duration, so they get the consistency of service but within what is tolerable for their limited attention spans. I work for a public school with kids age 3-9 and with my apraxic kids I schedule NO LESS than 3 days per week, with my sessions no more than 1/2 hour, but around 20 min for the little ones. Working on this issue is very demanding, and most little ones, and even many older kids will have trouble with 45 min. per week. Often in educational settings not as much frequency will be offered, however for apraxia, frequency of service is a MUST!
