Women won 1st round; Men to play 1st game Thursday

UTA won 62-53 over Northwestern St. and will play #5 UTSA on Friday @ 2:30pm. --Previous Message-- : I know this isn't baseball, but as athletic : alumni, we should support all UTA sports if : we have the chance. So, if you haven't been : to the UTA Athletic Site or heard lately, : the Men's BB won 7 of last 11 conference : games to get into the SLC tourney @ #5, they : play #4 McNeese Thursday night. The Women's : BB team went 16-0 in SLC conference and play : tonight vs #8 Northwestern St. The Women's : BB team obviously is favored to win the SLC : tourney and go to the NCAA tourney. If for : some reason they don't, they may get an : automatic bid into the NCAA; but if they : don't, they have already received an : invitation to the Women's NIT. : : : : :
