Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop influence. Loving Jazz. These days I would label myself part of that Neo or Nu Soul Group or just trying to do something different group!
I have recording experience. I write some really deep songs. Trying to raise consiousness through music. Looking for a band to get this show on the road! Literally! I'm looking for what Sweetback was to Sade. A band like the Roots or like the wonderful band I hear Lelah Hathaway has. Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, India Erie, Rasan Patterson, Musiq...they are the lucky ones. They were able to find their "musical soulmates". Besides that they are musicians themselves (I knew I should have learned to play something or even read!)
I want to do my Nina Simone. If you are a musician and want to be a part of this musical movement...holla!
