this situation is unlikley- more than likely what happened to your car is they probably put too much oil in your engine-this could cause your seals to leak. 5W50 is a very thin oil (5W is the actual weight of the oil,which is directly proportionate to the density/ 50 is the lubricating viscosity or what it 'acts like')and therefore if anything it would create less oil pressure, not more. If this oil is used at very hot ambient temperatures, it may not be thick enough to take up the space between the moving parts of the engine and thus create unwanted friction on these parts.
