There are several things you can do.
1). if you are using plastic lacing, try placing your finished beadie into a pot of boiling water that has been removed from the heat - Kids get a parent or adult to help you. - Let it sit in the water for about 2 mins. remove with tongs and lay flat. place a heavy item on top.
when it cools, it will be flat.
2- insert flat toothpicks into each row. this helps keep it strong and stay together better.
3- use thin guage wire. This really helps keep the beadies together and makes them bendable as well. Use wire cutters to make the final knot.
4- Use double sided 1/8" satin ribbon.
Double sided works great because it grabs the beads from both sides and helps to tighten the rows.
