I just returned from seeing Mr. Kudisch in "The Pirates of Penzance" in New York City and although I have seen better productions of this operetta, I have never enjoyed anyone in the role of The Pirate King more than Mr. Kudisch. And I say "Mr." because that gentleman deserves every bit of respect and admiration there is for not only that particular performance but his entire body of work! From Conrad Birdie to Millie to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (he and Jan Maxwell walked away with that one) to See What I Want To See and even The Thing About Men. I will travel just about anywhere to see and hear that man perform. I'm sure many, many, many people will agree that Mr. Kudisch is by far one of the BEST male performers working today.
