Posted by Dave Z AVIs can be HUGE depending on the amount of compression, frame size etc. Do you have a removable or firewire hard disk? Or writing it to a DVD data disk?? I have used the default microsoft windows AVI settings once or twice but not extensively....I usually use only the RT.... I seem to remeber SOMEWHERE seeing a post that refeenced loading just the Matrox codecs onto a PC without an RT2000 and then you can edit in Premiere.... Not sure if this is true or not... I guess the bigger question is how do you intend to get this footage to him??

: I have a customer who wants some
: footage digitized and then output as
: an .avi so he can do some editing on
: his computer. My guess is to use the
: Microsoft AVI setting as opposed to
: the Matrox AVI (or MS DV AVI), but
: which compressor should I be using?
: There are many choices here, but I
: need to know which is the most widely
: distributed. Any help, guys? TIA.
