Posted by dave z on 1/20/2004, 5:45 am About a year back my VS10 was giving me major issues....pixelating etc on DV record.... Sent it in for service and it came back with the same problem....I approaced ken freed on the Creative Cows JVC forum and he helped me alot....arranged to take the deck back...this time it came back repaired....far as I can tell... Bot now, a year later, we have *3* VS10 decks that wont play DV tapes......Ken's answer is send them in for service..... Well, I cant see spending that kind of money on decks that have barely any use on them and yet have problems.... I have a friend who had his VS20 die TWICE in a year.... Meanwhile I got a Panasonic PVDV910 camcorder (mini DV) that gets ABUSED and is 5 years old...NEVER a problem yet. And a VX2000 that has given me lots of trouble free use.... A fellow that I consider my mentor long ago once said JVC stands for "Junk Video Corporation"...this goes back to the days when 3/4" was the rage....The edit suite that I interned in had all JVC decks and we had lots of problems then. I am hesitant to spend a coupel hundred bucks a pop on each VS10 we have to get them looked at.... DZ

I am very quickly losing patience with and faith in my JVC....
