Posted by Dayspring I know that you're looking more for an external drive, which I can understand. However, I just picked up this drive myself and it's been great, so I figured I'd pass along the info. It's an internal drive by a company named OptoRite. It supports 8x DVD+R, 4x DVD-R, 4x DVD+RW, 2x DVD-RW, 40x CD-R, and 24x CD-RW. 40x CD read and 12x DVD read, btw. It also supports HD-BURN, which can burn 1.4 GB on a regular CD. I have yet to really test the compatibility, but supposedly most CD readers can support it with a flash-upgrade. Anyway, it's a pretty cool burner, and finally is being used to replace my regular CD burner because it's one of the few DVD burners that also has a respectable CD burn speed. And it's $139 at LiveWarehouse.com. They also have a black bezeled version for a few $ more. LiveWarehouse ALSO has the 4x version of the OptoRite DVD burner in black and beige for somewhere around $110 (+- a few dollars depending on bezel). Take care! --Previous Message-- Link: DD0401 8X DVD+-RW burner (beige bezel)
