RT2500 / Premiere - export to Matrox DV problem

Hi,
I've got a client with an RT2500 based editing rig, and it's stalling ~8000 (repeatably) frames into an export of his project.
720x576 / 25FPS, the stall occurs around 8000 frames even if the start point is moved.
exporting to mpeg2 works, but takes like 4x-5x longer..
suggestions?
