    Pelly & Berry

Posted by Lord Bergenstein on 9/5/2024, 13:49:34

Seeing on here and social media a fair few people seem to be indifferent or even happy for both players to be potentially released.

Personally I would be gutted to see either go. Whilst I would agree that neither should be starting week in week out, Berry is always good for a goal and Pelly is Pelly.

Agree unless we have better waiting in Wings?

Both have a place in the squad whatever division we are in, Pelly was heading towards a MOM performance against forest until he got pole-axed and taken of injured, unfortunately this season he hasn't been given enough of a run to be able to prove himself fully at this level but as everyone knows Pelly always proves the naysayers wrong.

But whilst great to recognise them, neither were good enough at this level.

Fair play, stop the melancholy and move on

If we go down I’d say the likes of pelly and berry and maybe even Woodrow, will be very much needed! I’d love to think the majority will stay but the reality is 4 or 5 are likely to go plus the 2 loanees, replacing them will be priority and then push on from there! At championship level having clicker berry Marv and pelly in the squad we wouldn’t need much more to be very competitive in midfield

The chance of signing on fees getting a good move/long contract,I am sure the club will look after them and find them a good home if THEY want it so.

As long as we get around £50 M sovs, then maybe some wiull leave.

Pelly was a very decent Championship player who now has some PL experience, why on Earth would you want to let him go. Luke was a bit in and out even in ourChampionship season, but he is the proverbial “game changer”. Depends if the club want to be solid mid table or romping away at the top I suppose

if we can bring in better players, then we have to let them go

If we are to go down then yes, we will need to bring in better players than Pelly & Berry, but to replace Barkley & Lokonga.

In a way Pelly’s journey with Luton is complete.

We want to keep berry when he came on against Everton he nearly scored a very underrated player.

All comes down to money. If they are out of contract and haven’t asked for a move in that time. They’ll collect a loyalty bonus from Luton and a signing on bonus from their new club. Both at ages where maybe last move as well.

Neither have been used enough in the Premier League, have to say that's our fault.

                              I'd play both Saturday.

                                In place of whom...?

I love Pelly but he is not an upgrade on Barkley or Lokonga...
