    Lakonga and Osho and defenders

Posted by Herts Hatter on 22/4/2024, 10:26:24

I will certainly give him benefit of doubt after 2 months out - yes he was well off pace Saturday but even then I thought he did show some "snippets" of what he was showing before. I think he can be a big asset for us in the next few games. Osho has been flaky for a while - he just seems to go to sleep at times - obviously would rather have him a CB than Hashi. Just hope RE can get into his head and get him refocused. Burke had a poor game but overall I think he has been good the last month or so. Possibly tired? Shame that Anderson is not fit as I think he would be a good option now. I still have hope we can defy the odds..playing 3 teams on the beach

Osho's attempt to stop the headed goal was pitiful.

Burke was ill and it was a risk playing him which didn't work which is why he was replaced at half time.

I'm sure a lot will disagree with me but I just don't think, Mengi aside, our defenders are anywhere good enough for the PL. Osho, Burke, Bell all switch off far too often. Kabore has had 3 or 4 good games all season. Doughty is no where near the level he was earlier in the season. Anderson looked dodgy when he was fit. It's the reason we've leaked so many goals.

We just don’t have enough midfield cover, the centre backs are constantly having players run at them, most CBs look a bit dodgy in that situation. Hopefully Lokonga getting back up to speed will help

Osho can be outstanding, but his lapses and inconsistency have cost us so many points this season. I'm not sold on him tbh.

Bell has dropped a couple of clangers, but overall, I think he's been fantastic.

Burke and Mengi have both done a very good job, but it's been hard for them playing in a makeshift back three for the last two months.

I think a lot of our defensive woes come from getting overrun and caught on the break. doesn't give the defence much chance when you have PL quality racing in on you in a 2 on 2.

you may be right - I actually do not remember Anderson kicking a ball - when did he last play? Kabore is inconsistent - he is 21 - might still make a PL player

He's played 8 matches apparently. Far be it from me to criticise, but if he cost 4 million as reported that's 9 million with Giles on 2_players who have contributed not a lot !!

I personally don't think they are good enough to play the 3 at the back we are trying to get them to play but could be in a more forgiving system.
