I totally respect everything you have done for the club and ever time you post I'll always read as it's always interesting.

I do think you are wrong on this whole campaign about 'say no to modern football' though.

It's far to generic and misses out on what I consider to be the most disgraceful aspect of modern football; genuine working class kids and adults being priced out of football.

But can't you see that this is all part of that programme and bigger picture. Screw the poor clubs and poor fans. This is now a rich mans game on terms of both clubs and fans.

          Are you actually kidding?

If a lower league team draws against a big club:
at home, the a chance of a huge pay day at the replay at a top ground.
away, the potential of a cup upset plus the possibility of TV coverage for extra revenue plus wider media exposure.

That is such a tired argument Godders. How often does that happen in reality?

It doesn't matter how many times it happens, even a non league club going to a div 1 club can be a massive pay day for them, it doesn't have to be a Premier team. Why shut down the possibility of it happening.
Who gains by all of this, those clubs that shoot off and play in lucrative friendlies and tournaments as often as they can.

Mate is a Cambridge fan and a replay absolutely saved them and set them up for years. As I posted earlier today -
On the lost revenue, I know that the future of Cambridge United was secured by their replay with Man U a few years ago. Some of the money was used to build some hospitality facilities at the back of the Main Stand to help sustainability.

Usually at least two or three times in a season.
