FFP and all that - the main issue

Is surely salary expectations of professional players.

What makes players think they are worth stupid money.

We seem to do very well with our salary cap.

Are we significantly worse off for not paying the crazy wages Forest and many others do?

Perhaps clubs should just agree a cap and then make it about coaching and development.

Part of me wants us to think blow it and overspend as the more clubs do it the more folly their pathetic justice system appears.

However, at the end of the day we need to be run sustainably and I would just love it if one of the big boys (or perceived big boys) went bust. Everton would be a welcome start.

Don't know what's so difficult about bringing in the UEFA rule? Just allow 70% of turnover onwards for all playing side staff

2 points deduction for every 1% a club goes over that

Yes, it'll still favour the big clubs but the current system or allowing a complete free-for-all does/would anyway

Your Tariff system is far clearer than the current one!

Smacks of gross incompetence that they hadn't clear defined the punishments for breaking the rules.

I believe that the clubs voted against a fixed tariff.

Yup. Sums it up. I think they’ve been reluctant to give out points deductions for years as it damages the brand so to speak.
So they’ve got themselves into a right old mess with it really

I thought that was coming in next season?

                I think so

But the tariff idea I've just made up. The penalty will just be fines I reckon, which is a laughably weak and ironic punishment

You can't blame the players. Clubs are stupid to pay it, not the players for asking for it.

Players demand and clubs pay it. The idea that the Manchester City players are paid around £3.5m a game (plus bonuses) is preposterous. But that’s what I make it anyway. May be dodge maths baes on £150k pw, 25 man squad and 55 games a season.

Man City's income last season,£712.8 million, with a profit of £80.4 million.
