Actually turned out well in end when Newell came in and replaced him, but don't forget the protest against Gurney at the ground wasn't really a protest against Gurney at time as most didn't know for certain he was involved, it was a protest against the sacking of the hugely popular BFj and Mick.

A few eggs later and even though we didn't get BFJ back, we did get Mick back a couple of months later and also well & truly exposed Gurney.

Old enough to see him make his debut at Spurs. 1966 if my memory serves me correctly, because of his "baby" face he was the darling of the female supporters and a decent full back as well.

Was there. Had it out with PC Palmer & his wanker colleagues for turning on a young lad. Cowards. Lee Power never returned!

Bit like John Still. He did what he was bought in to do.

Yeah but after Lennie who also never said anything interesting in 5 years, i think a lot of the fans loved the way he talked us up.

Also co-incided with the start of messageboard era where he gave fans stuff to talk about.
