1) If they have cheated/broke the rules the teams they actually did that against (Leeds, Leicester etc) are already relegated so get no benefit.
2) If you listen to The Toon, they say the sudden urge to dock clubs PSR points is orchestrated by "the big 6" - effectively targeting them - to stop them being able to spend the £billions they did. I don't know about that but there doesn't seem to be the same urgency to get at Citeh.

I heard that on 5live too - about Newcastle. Not sure that's strictly true is it? I just thought it was them playing sour grapes/victim mentality because after a promising start they've flattered to deceive - again!!!!
even without the cheating Id love to see them relegated, the players did a fantastic job getting them up and their reward was to be told you're all shit and we're replacing you immediately. But I bet if one of those players had been a superstar and moved on some clause for bugger all they'd be crying No loyalty in the game They're just as bad as City as an example of the modern game

And that's another thing I heard on the radio this afternoon whilst on the school run with a forest fan phoning in saying their mitigating circumstances were partly that they weren't expecting promotion because they had so many players on loan who all left in the summer and then they therefore had to spend loads of money on new players!!!! Firstly, why were there so many loan players in the first place? It suggests bad planning and management to me and secondly did they really need 22 new players?
But I completely agree with your point about the original players diong a great job getting the club promoted and then being told to clear off. It also makes our story even better!
