    Commission 'logic'

Posted by HH on 18/3/2024, 16:43:38

Basically, looks like they were let off because they co-operated. Whereas, Everton mispresented their case and delayed the process from last season to try to get any deduction applied last season.

      "reduced the cost of enforcement".
      Is this a joke?
It's not involving the bloody High Court judges and barristers . Even if it 'cost' 100s of thousands it is peanuts compared to the financial benefits at stake to clubs that are cheating.

The 'cost of enforcement' wouldn't be just financial.

Unfortunately, I think the message is break the rules, spend what you want and plead leniency whilst ensuring you co-operate.

In that case I hope Everton get a minimum -6 for their 2nd breach

            You would think so

But watch them get a suspended deduction and then more mental gymnastics for the Commission

They just seem to invent new stuff at every hearing

So the minimum deduction is 1 point then. I expect Everton to have cooperated for the 2nd charge, and the scale will no doubt be less. So maybe only a point or 2.

Neverton will get 3 points back

The commission has to be accountable.

In other words , every decision random.

Surely a 2nd or subsequent breaking of the rules has to be "punished" by a bigger point deduction? As things stand, the Everton and Forest deductions do very little to deter over spending. Rather toothless punishment

If it was a minimum 1 point and you get can get two in the bag for cooperation, you could end up with a +1 for financial doping

Haha, I meant -3 starting point and +2 for "cooperation".

Don't get me wrong, I think all these deductions are far too lenient. But we should be realistic - reading that, Everton's next deduction looks to be less than 4.
