Registration should get rid of the idiots. And let the genuine and mainly long-time posters get on with their posts. Could non-registered posters still look in on the website for the interesting things posted but not be allowed to post?

It has been made clear that registration on this board is not possible even if everyone is in favour so I don't understand why there have been so many posts about it.
Several boards with registration have been created and failed. The link below is one of them - it had a few posts initially but, from memory, there were three posts in the last two months before this appeared.

There are about a dozen or so posters who I would describe as sensible and knowledgeable. If they were the only approved/permitted posters that would bring a huge improvement in the quality of posts. Others like T.k. could just look in.

If you look at the Hall of Shame above, there are far more than "a dozen or so" posters who have donated to keep this board going.
