    Pelly's injury

Posted by MG on 18/3/2024, 12:53:40

Is there any footage of the incident? Very hard to see from where I sit.

And any news about his fitness?

He was putting in an excellent performance up until then.

I still don't think it was deliberate to push him into the hoardings

Thanks, but I have to say I think you might be being just a touch generous.

To me, it seems as if we are picking up most of the bookings we deserve, and one or two that we didn't.

Opposition players, on the other hand, seem to have to work far harder to get them.

I just think you see that kind of little shove all game, it was Pellys momentum that took him further.

Agree on the rest though..everyone's mentioning the 'foul' Barkley gave away but Kabore made a tackle shortly before and got booked for it and that was an even worse decision imo.

See it all the time, especially against the bigger clubs.

That being said, Kabore made a cynical trip to stop a counter, ref didn't even give a foul when imo it was a yellow

Yes, it was a very poor refereeing performance.

I just thought it was a bit more than a shove though equally I doubt he went into it with the intent to cause what happened.

I would definitely say it was a "reckless" way to challenge which is why I think a yellow would have been appropriate.

The Kabore and Barkley decisions were simply ridiculous.

Played in slo-mo, that looks about as deliberate as you could wish for. Didn’t think so at the time, I should add…

I agree. It was a booking.

Which should have been a red after several fouls that could have put him onto a previous yellow.
