    That Derby Season

A lot on here believe we could have bought ourselves out of relegation this season - worth remembering the Derby season when the finished with record low points and in relation to the January transfer window that season

"Jewell was busy in the January 2008 transfer window, selling several players and bringing eight new players in, namely Everton defender Alan Stubbs,[12] Argentine striker Emanuel Villa,[13] ex-England international defender Danny Mills on loan from Manchester City, Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage,[14] French winger Laurent Robert, Tottenham's Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly on loan,[15] Genēlerbirliği's Mile Sterjovski[16] and Rangers goalkeeper Roy Carroll."

Lot of experience in there but I don't think they won another game. Point is that bringing in even proven PL players is really no guarantee of anything never mind taking punts on guys from the Swiss league or something. We have done very well with a F2 car in a F1 race!

Rob Edwards has also alluded to his time at Blackpool when he was a squad player in their Premier League season. They were flying at Christmas, up in mid table. Signed a load of players in January, upset the blend in the squad, barely won another point and got relegated.

Luton cannot now finish in the worst ever 'top' 5 Prem points finishes.

Need another 4 points to avoid the 'top' 10 worst finishes. Number 10 is QPR on 25 points.

My main concern is hitting 32+ points. I reckon that could possibly be the safety point this season. Survival is more important than numbers
