Premier league

….. what’s the point in trying to compete? The top 5 is so predictable and boring. Is it just about raking in the dosh, to stabilise your club?
There’s never going to be a Leicester again..
Yeah the odd freak result here and there, that always happens. Would it be better if the top six bugger off to their global franchise? Does football need a reset?

Because it brings us moments like leading vs. Liverpool, being 4-2 up at Newcastle etc. If you were at those games, you'd get it. At first I had no interest in the money dominated PL. But once we found our feet,I've enjoyed it. It's worth every penny to go to these top clubs(barring the odd exception) and see my kids witness us have a real go at these so called big teams. Football is bigger than the owners of half a dozen clubs, the minute we all roll over to what they want, that's when the game at the top level dies.

No-one thought a Leicester could happen before it did. Will still happen every so often as success on a football pitch is not just about money as we've showed since we climbed out of non-league.

Aside from Leicester, who were hardly skint themselves, when was the last time a team outside the mega rich won the league or one of the cups?

Wigan in 2013, Pompey in 2008, as I said it has and will happen every so often. Leicester might not be skint but they are not one of the elite.

Fair point. Though the financial management at Wigan and Portsmouth on the back of that is hardly a shining example

Could be worse
One club league like PSG or Bayern (where you might rarely get another winner like Monaco, or dortmund )
this is true. to be fair, start of any season you could argue maybe 4 or 5 clubs could win the league. You can't really say that about most other leagues in Europe.

The powers that be are always trying to make football 'better' . . . better for who is the question.
Parachute Payments: Now they're looking at scrapping them. FFP: They keep changing the rules, and seem unable to apply the rules (and punishments for breaking them) in any satisfactory way. VAR: Yet another idea to make the game better, but just spreads the controversy further afield.
And now a proposal to spread the cash fairer, which certain clubs don't agree with.
Football just needs better management at the top.

Football just needs better management at the top.
It really needs to go back to one body running the top 4 divisions. Will never happen now though. 1992 saw the split and I can't see that being fixed

Good point. Why are the Prem allowed into the Football League Cup?
Because without those clubs. they'd be even less interest in it.

I get that. But at the same time, you've missed seeing perhaps the best Luton side for the last 30 years.

Not in my hands the ticket system prevents .e however I did go to Newcastle thanks to a diamond mate. Met old school friends and other friends so a good day

Yes, I sympathise with that. It's dispiriting to be on the tail end of the ticket queue. However, there were spaces to the left and right of me in the safe-standing area at the back of Oak Road yesterday so I assume that they weren't sold out. (I don't know if they were offered on general sale.)
Crap view, but cracking atmosphere in that corner.

the game is rotten to the core. from rogue state owners, officiating at a criminal level and getting treated like £hit from the authorities on match day.

it's only a matter of time before the American owners of premier league clubs turn it into a mirror image of the NFL, franchise clubs and not giving a toss for the fans.
