Agreed. Burke's health will always be an issue but I reckon he's Prem quality
Menghi could get a full England cap in the future

A hypothetical scenario of course because sadly it will never happen, but who would be in our best back 3.
Burke, Lockyer and Mengi are our best defenders in my view but not sure they would be the best 3. Think you need a left footer in there ideally and I think Lockyer and Mengi both better centrally.

Bearing in mind the dearth of available centre halves at the club, I'd like to see Burke and Mengi in a two with 2 full backs not bombing on as much as our wingbacks do now. Thought we might have seen that yesterday along with a midfield 5. I still feel we are leaving too much space in behind in wide areas and yesterday was no different. Forest were too shite to capitalise
You're right, those 3 are our best centre backs. Whether they could work as a unit in a 3 is a question we might not ever find out

At home potentially but Doughty and Kabore are attacking wing backs. Not sure they can play in a 4 man defence

As 'Hatters' says, I'm sure Doughty (injury permitting) and Kabore are capable of playing as conventional defensive full backs

Think we may be doing both a bit of disservice to say they can't play as full backs. It's difficult to judge the defensive qualities of either player at the moment due to them being played so advanced almost as wingers rather than wingbacks. I suspect both have played that role in the past at previous clubs, so shouldn't be too difficult to adapt back.

Wasn’t it Burke and Mengi who both missed to keep track of the striker when Forest scored yesterday? I certainly agree that both of them have been excellent but Wood being so open made me curse quite a lot.
