Transfer window

Full backs, possibly one for each side.
Sell Giles to Boro, he is still very unconvincing and Osho saved him twice late in the game, we need better there as cover for Alfie.
I would also replace Kabore, harsh but Alfie is better there than Kabore and it’s not even his natural side. (Alfie is a £25m player now imho).
Obviously we need another striker and extra cover at centre back as Bell and Burke are both injury risks.
But with even those minor changes I genuinely think we have a better than average chance of staying up.
I said back in August that we needed someone like Andros, today he again showed what real Premier League quality is.
Whoever we bring in this time needs to be already PL experienced.
Certainly in our hands and that is all we hoped for.

Give it a rest kid.
Giles and Kabore may not be as good as Alfie, but that's very high bar at the moment. Both did fine today.
Saying Bell is an injury risk makes you sound stupid. Check his Luton record since he joined. The guy has been bullet proof.
We need a CB and an upgrade on Woodrow would be nice. But in RE and MH we trust.

There's no way Alfie is better than Kabore on the right side. In a million years. He'll do a job but is no where as near effective.
You want more full backs, then loan out the players who'll never get a serious game now. Berry, Potts, Woodrow to make room for them.
Personally I'd look an experienced forward. Ideally with pace. Yes, I know......no chance.
I had my doubts about Issa, early on, but he's come on with everyone else.
I wouldn't be chopping and changing too much given our momentum but if Chong can't get a game then Berry must be thinking about playing time. Clark to a lesser extent but still. Potts, Woodrow likewise. That's without considering bids for those who are already out on loan. There's the potential for movement but if we could bring in a first choice anywhere, where would that be and what risk to what we've done so far would there be?
Cheers, Jim

Got to be impact players.
I feel sorry for Morris a little. He just isn't an impact player. I'm not knocking him, but with the game situation we are often in, I'd rather Ogbene or Chong with their pace up front.
Callum Chambers?

Could be a solid replacement for Lockyer. Knows the league, knows Nakamba, and could complete the "premier trio" along with Townsend and Barkley to give us that spine.
Apparently he's excess to Villa's requirements right now.

I’d get cover for Kabore but certainly not relate him. Kabore lately has been very good. Moving Doughty to the right is a complete waste of his talent as unfortunately he has very little right foot, and can’t cross with it. His crosses with his left are exceptional.
Giles is a work In progress it seems.
Keeping Townsend beyond January is a must.

We don’t have time for a work in progress, especially as he is our record signing.

Our record signing. all the more reason to give him time,

IMHO trying to stay up is worth a greater ‘gamble’ now.
We have led against the best teams in the league in the last two months. Players who we approach will have a very different opinion of us than they did in August.
We haven’t let ourselves down or been stuffed.
With the exception of Alfie none of the other full/wing backs have impressed.
I just think that if we can find a better one or two it will be the difference to keep us up.
Staying up is worth so much I just can’t see how we can risk it with players who aren’t quite good enough.

You seem to have forgotten Ogbene. Gets up and down the pitch like his life depends upon it.

Ogbene is a winger and that is where he should play.
Wonderful player who plays International football as a forward.

Mate we are staying up anyway, the squad we have is starting to really gel. we now need to start expressing ourselves like we did today in the away games. Kabore is doing well on the right. if anything we need a fox in the box.
The bloke who must be our fifth choice CH, promoted by Locks' absence, came on today. That's counting an unfit Burke ahead of him and only having Potts to turn to if Bell's out for Tuesday. That's got to be more of a concern.
Cheers, Jim
