First time I've seen the MOTD version of this game. The tension on the terraces was unreal which comes over quite well. City fans really believed they would stay up but the longer the game went on you could feel the change in the crowd. Just a fence separating us so the emotions of both sets of fans was clearly visible. The going down chants became fewer and it was left to us to return the chant the end of the game after wild celebrations. Their fans didn't take it very well.

Joking aside, yes - see article that I posted further down in this thread.

I can’t watch this all the way through right now but listen to (I think) Brian Horton being interviewed and asked ‘what were you thinking with 5 minutes to go?’ - to which Kirk Stephens (in the background) makes a large farting noise

I was at that game btw...

Foreign players - it was never going to work, was it

My favourite quote from that day - Wayne Turner - as soon as I was replaced by Raddy, I knew that we were going to win it.

Closely followed by Mad Jack (who recently reappeared with his autograph book at the open top bus parade and then outside the end of season dinner) after someone got attacked by Burnley (I think) fans at the service station on the way to an evening in Blackpool - nothing has gone right for us today !

Worst part of that day - knowing before kick-off that, whatever the result, there would be an announcement at 5 pm that we would be moving to Milton Keynes.

Wan't story that a Luton fan was drinking in Peter Swales's office and saw a letter sent to all FL chairmen about the MK move and leaked it to the press?

Not sure - I was told by Colin Ball before kick-off.

Wish it had been quiet going through the streets of Moss Side after the game. A few hatters were running the gauntlet.
